Up and Onwards with The WAIFU Project
It’s been twenty days since the birth of the WAIFU Project and both public and team chats are absolutely popping recently! Our core group of developers, community managers, anime experts and advisors have made huge strides in deciding numerous technical pathways for our project and business development has clenched some significant partnerships that will be announced at just the right time! Most importantly we are sitting down and designing the finer points of the WAIFU universe with the end user and community experience in mind. There are many aspects of ownership and utility to NFTs that have caught the eye of industry leaders from all corners of the cryptocurrency space. In particular it has been a privilege to connect with serious talent in the blockchain gaming and digital collectible worlds. This brings us to our first highlight of the week — we’re ready to share some of our ideas on how we will create our own world complete with original characters and lore!
Our first generation of NFTs were designed with tokenized fan artwork and unrelated unique digital assets in mind. We recognize the huge value in commissioned illustrations and know our contacts in the anime industry can deliver some exciting content for our earliest supporters. These auctions of “doujinshi” art are only the manifestation of our first idea from two weeks ago when we were considering how we could raise money to fund our open source project. Judging by the current bids, our idea is a resounding success. We will be reserving the majority of these funds for an upcoming centralized exchange listing! Did we mention these tokens will also give you access to our private liquidity pool as well as a custom VR experience we plan to roll out at the end of the year?
Part of the commitment to the community is the promise of a one-of-a-kind experience with your NFTs. In addition to privately owned artwork, pool reservation, and a 3D model, all first generation WAIFU collectible owners will be given the first characters from the Waifuniverse! What is the Waifuniverse, you ask?

Our core group has dedicated serious thought to this undertaking and our universe lore will be quite extensive. This is only a taste and we feel it’s only appropriate to serialize the full narrative! Over time we will leak more of this story. There are 10 original WAIFU personalities available in the first generation. A few of these will be visually influenced by popular characters that we know the community loves! For instance, our time working with shell maru on our Nami and Boa commissions has given us a ton of ideas for cypherpirate-like characters from a new universe. Meet both Arwen and Rorsa!
Arwen Volpe is a dominating force in the cypherpunk scene. Her childhood memories are of pirated copies of early operating systems and programs. She owes much of her digital prowess to her wealthy mentor, Mr. Drummond, who adopted her at a young age. Arwen frequently borrowed his computer, skipping school to work on warez projects. She has been the most wanted in all 13 Eyes cybercrime offices throughout most of her life.
Rorsa grew up in a resource-poor desert region during a time of massive starvation, lawlessness and general chaos. A sudden regime change devastated her rural community as a child, leaving her motherless without siblings to look after her. Rorsa had always been a self-directed learner and soon had developed her own crypto miningware which she deployed on unsuspecting user’s phones and computers across an entire country. A Robinhood-esque figure, Rorsa has used much of her newfound wealth to improve her village and feed her community in the resource-scarce region.
The lore for each character will be quite extensive. We intend for them to be fleshed out personalities with unique stats and a home within our web3 universe! Although our auctions clearly have fanart from the One Piece series, these assets will eventually become tokenized versions of our own characters. You will still own your commissioned artwork, and will be a private experience for your eyes only! We intend to finish writing a full 50 characters by the end of October and match one with each of our fanart NFTs. Our auction process will be a bit slower, but we have our focus set on painting the Waifuinverse for all of our fans! In the meantime, we will continue contacting popular anime and hentai artists to produce private artworks to auction. Are you waiting for that sexy picture of your favorite waifu? Part of our plan to distribute our NFTs far and wide involves some giveaways, a raffle, and now we have some good ideas for how to run our first puzzle giveaway! We’re hard at work on this and will release more info soon. We are also nearly ready to list our third and fourth NFTs on Superrare next weekend. These auctions will commence Friday, September 4th. Details will be provided soon. In the meantime, we are waiting with bated breath to see if anybody makes a move at outbidding our current auction leaders!
Stay tuned for some super dope upcoming announcements, anon! We have details on rewards, new characters, partnerships, and updated roadmap information. A new and improved website is currently being laid out; this will grow with our project needs and the size of our community! As our ecosystem and the demand for $WAIF grows we’ll expand the markets for both our ERC-20 and ERC-1155 tokens. All will be revealed soon, including the artwork and story behind our own WAIFU mascot collectible. Until then may the $WAIF be with you, senpai! And don’t forget about our waifbase clubhouse — 10K tokens must be in your wallet to access our meme repository. We will increase this minimum threshold for high quality files, and even have designs to provide a premium WAIFU chat community to our biggest supporters.
